SC State University’s photography professor, Scotty Peek, and a selection of his students will be included in the 2011 Scholastic Invitational in Greenwood, S.C. The exhibit is part of the annual Click 646 event, a photographic collective that celebrates and promotes the art and experience of image making. The very best work from faculty and students throughout South Carolina’s photography programs are featured during the invitational exhibit. Additionally, educators and students use this event as an opportunity to gather together and share ideas, create friendships, and celebrate the talent and accomplishments of South Carolina’s photography programs.

“We’re very excited about the artworks of these exceptional students being included on gallery walls next to their state-wide peers, and also excited for the recognition our program is getting so soon after its creation,” states Peek. SC State students included in the exhibit are Tiziana Collins, Larry Frazier, Dennis Waring and Stephanie Williams.

The student exhibition is currently on view at the Federal Building’s Arts Center and can be viewed until Oct. 29, 2011. The faculty exhibit will be on view at the Greenwood Museum from Sept. 30, 2011 – Dec. 31, 2011. Both are located on Main Street in Greenwood, S.C., and will have opening receptions on Friday, Sept. 30, which starts the weekend of Click 646 activities.

Larry Frazier

Larry Frazier, though he's a History Major, has taken every Photography course at SC State (I, II, and III), as well as an Independent Study in Photography.  He's now taking pictures, not to fulfill assignments, but for his own reasons.  He's making such great photos.  Here are few recent ones:
